Additional Nicking Function

Why do you need a steel rule die bender with nicking or perforation?
First of all, toothed/nicked steel rules have a toothed structure. When we use wood dies with nicking to cut some special materials. The toothed structure make it more easier to cut off. For example, in the die-cutting process, if the material is thick or elastic, the flat blade may not be easy to cut or easy to rebound after cutting.This will result in an untidy cut. But if you use a toothed wood-die, each tooth can gradually cut off the material, reducing the concentration of force. So that the cut seam will be more neat, prolonging the service life of your wood dies.
Second, the toothed wood dies are useful for some specific materials. For example, soft or flexible materials such as foam, tape, sponge. Flat blades cutting these materials may have sticking problems, but toothed knives can reduce the contact area and avoid the material sticking to the wood die, improving productivity. Also, for materials like corrugated cardboard, a toothed knife can cut through the fiber structure more easily, keeping the cut flat and reducing burrs.
What’s more, some industries use toothed wood dies to help with chip/wastes removal. Chips are generated during the cutting process can interfere with the cut if they stack up. So the gap between the teeth may help dislodge the chips and keep the cutting process stable. In addition, different tooth widths and densities may be adapted to different material requirements. For example, wider tooth spacing is suitable for thick materials and narrow tooth spacing is suitable for accurate stuffs cuts which need to be selected on a case-by-case basis.
