Added nicking functionality
In the die-making industry,many types of cutting dies need to use the steel rule with nicking, the die board with nicking has following features and advantages.
Layered cutting: layered processing of multi-layered materials (such as composites, foam pads), nicking can control the cutting depth of each layer to ensure uniformity of layering and avoid excessive cutting.
Reducing burrs: When cutting hard materials (e.g. foils, plastic sheets), nicking reduces edge burrs and improves the smoothness of the finished product.
In addition, nicking improves the life span of the cutting dies, based on the following principles,
Distribute pressure: nicking distributes the cutting pressure to multiple tiny cuts, reducing localized tool wear and prolonging die life.
There are 3 sets of broaching with the bender
Broaching, as a high-end function of steel rule die bending machine, is mainly used to make it easier to shape the steel rule at a large angle by broaching part of the material on the one side of the steel rule.
If without broaching, a standard steel rule bender can only form angles of about 100°, and the minimum chamfer radius of the angle is 1mm R. If the angle is bent over 100°, the inner corner of the angle may crack due to material buildup. With broaching, bending angles of up to 160° are possible with a much lower chamfer radius.
Perforating and Holes Punching are Available
Perforating is mainly used for steel rule making teeth. In some die cutting applications where a tear-off cut is required, the serrated edge can be used to cut the material progressively. Making it suitable for applications where a tear-off effect is required, or where a half-break is required (e.g. corrugated cardboard, rubber sheets).
In addition, the teeth can also be used to cut thick material. The serrated design distributes the pressure and saves effort when cutting thick materials (e.g. leather, rubber mats).
